We love how the extra-large feeding chute allows you to add big chunks of fruit with minimal prep work and found it particularly easy to assemble. Our testers noted how sturdy and stable it felt and were impressed by how quickly it produced large batches of juice compared to some of the other machines. Juicing can be time-consuming, so if you're going to do it, why not make a big batch? This extra-large and super-powerful machine is ideal for someone looking to make juice in bulk for the week. Though we found this model easy to assemble, we noticed that it is quite heavy compared to some other models.Īlthough it's easy to set up, it's a bit bulky and can take up a lot of space on the countertop. Overall, we love how easy it is to use - the strong motor and large feeding tube mean you don't have to stand over it and forcefully plunge ingredients the whole time, making for an easy, hands-off juicing experience. Our testers observed that this juicer produced thick, smooth juice with zero pulp and a consistent viscosity from recipe to recipe. ![]() It’d be almost funny if the script was equipped with a single ounce of self-awareness, but Payback treats its cast of hip young millennials and soda commercial cast-offs like they’re the coolest thing since the other side of the pillow. “The events themselves are all tied to defeating themed race crews spread over the map, each of whom introduces themselves like they’re the Most Important People on Earth. They’re supernaturally fast (as usual, standard issue Crown Vics are able to go doorhandle-to-doorhandle with seven-figure supercars) but player-controlled cars are incredibly powerful battering rams, tearing through cop cars like a bad curry through a colon. The cop AI seems robust enough, and they’ll work on boxing you in when they have the numbers, but I didn’t find them too dangerous. Payback changes things up slightly in the penultimate race event, where it adds cops in the middle of an actual race, but otherwise police pursuits are basically now just time trials where the AI is trying to stop you. There aren’t any cops around during free-roam, either they’re only present in story missions or at certain triggers spread around the map that will initiate another linear, pre-set chase. No more darting down random side-streets at the last second to shake the fuzz, or parking in a dimly-lit area with the engine off, like Need for Speed 2015. Taking down cop cars in these events has a welcome enough Burnout 3 flavour to it – muscling your pursuers into spectacular slow-motion collisions with poles and parked cars is fun – but I don’t think it was worth losing proper pursuits for. ![]() “The cop chases feel largely neutered too escaping police is now a totally linear exercise, where we have to follow a set path via checkpoints within a time limit instead of improvising and doing something unpredictable to throw them off. They’re really just built to service Payback’s paper-thin story, which starts with a confounding succession of betrayals and ends without ever really going anywhere interesting. Fast and frantic, but shallow and not worth replaying. They’re well-executed, particularly how they seamlessly swap you between characters and vehicles (like the opening moments of Forza Horizon 3), but they’re completely scripted. We’re just driving from cutscene to cutscene. They may look exciting on the surface, but they aren’t really that demanding unlike, say, the Stuntman games, Payback doesn’t require us to do any of the trickier stuff ourselves – the game takes over all the cool bits. The reality is that racing still pads out the bulk of the driving in Payback and the new “action driving” stuff is limited to a small handful of movie-inspired sequences and Payback’s new police pursuit system. Play You may have heard that Payback has dialled back on the pure street racing focus in favour of a self-described “action driving” experience. ![]() The BMW 507 is a roadster that was supposed to be produced overseas and exported to the United States by the thousands per year.īMW makes very good overall cars. ![]() Just remember that if you have too many details, it can take a lot of time to add all the highlights manually. You can, of course, use brushes with custom patterns to save some time. This is a simple way to add engraving manually without relying too much on layer modes. You can see with the sphere in the example. Pay close attention to your light source, as both the main light source and reflected light come into play. ![]() Make a normal layer above the multiply layer and add highlights. You can also use this method to create shallow cracks in rocks and marble sculptures. Make sure the pattern follows the shape of the object. You can also have a normal layer and use black on low opacity for a similar result. Create a multiply layer and use a medium gray color to draw the patterns. Make sure to determine the light source first, which is where the highlight should follow. Painting engravings by hand is useful when other methods don’t match your own style that well. There are a lot of beautiful pattern brushes to download on clip studio assets, so I really recommend it for finding inspiration and resources. Using layer mode “difference” works pretty good for patterned brushes with a lot of details and thin lines. Depending on what colors or values you work with, you can get similar results with the layer set to “Exclusion”. Usually white or very light gray should do the trick. If it doesn’t look right off the bat, adjust the luminosity until it looks something similar to the image here. We’ll repeat this with the reflective sphere, but instead of a normal layer, let’s set the layer to “difference”. For example, the reflected light at the bottom of the sphere and areas close to the highlight are areas where I would make the line a bit darker. I then used a soft airbrush to add variety to the darker shades along the line.Īs a rule of thumb, you should only darken areas that are lighter than the mid-tone. But for the other two, we have to take the reflective light into account.įor the shiny sphere, I set the line-layer to “normal” and locked the transparent pixels. If we give each sphere a deep groove along the surface, we can see that they each look different.įor the matte sphere, we can pretty much only use a multiply layer. The more reflective the surface, the more you have to include the surrounding colors. The highlights and core shadows are also sharper and higher in contrast.Ī reflective surface takes this further and starts to reflect its surroundings like a mirror. The main factor that separates shiny objects from matte objects is that the reflective light is more pronounced, as we can see with the bottom half of the middle sphere. Even if it’s not your usual style, I still encourage you to give these methods a try!Įngraving can be done on any type of surface, but it’s good to be aware of how it looks on matte, shiny, and reflective objects. ![]() ![]() That’s why I’ll show you several methods I mainly use for a digital “painterly” style. There are different ways to add details to your artwork and they all are useful, but you might prefer some methods over others depending on your own art style. Just by changing the lighting as shown here, the surface can look either engraved or embossed. To achieve a convincing result, you need to pay attention to the light source. These are patterns and text that are added onto the surface. It’s mainly a method to decorate areas and make them look more appealing. You can use any brush for this, but the ones I’ve used in this tutorial are the following:Įngraving is a pattern, picture, or text carved onto a surface, which is usually metal. Today I’ll show you how to make objects such as armor look rich, detailed, and ornate by adding engravings using the digital art software Clip Studio Paint.
